Unfortunate and Fortunate.

Unfortunate:

- Living in the Midwest right now. This weather is killing me. Every day has been in the high 90s with a heat index of the 100s. Sick. There is an "excessive heat warning" going on right now and has been for at least a week now. It's supposed to get "cooler" this weekend and go down to 90. Ha! Yeah, that's a lot cooler...

- Of course, last Thursday, on the first day of all of this lovely weather, the air in our store broke. Seriously?? They've "fixed" it a few times since then, but it was hot at work yesterday as well. They "fixed" it again yesterday, and it seemed a little better by the time I left, but I'm wearing shorts or a dress instead of pants today, just in case.

- I was going to be on time to work on Tuesday morning for once, but as I drove a couple minutes away, I realized that I had switched my purses, and I didn't have my work keys. AKA, I can't open the store without them. So of course, I had to turn around and get them, and then was about 15 minutes late. Awesome.

- Nick and I only get one day off together at a time as of late. He usually has Saturday and Sunday off, while I have Sunday and Monday off. We thankfully got the 4th off together, but yesterday and today we have exact opposite schedules: He goes to work in the morning until the afternoon, I go in at 1 and don't get off til 9:30. We get Sunday off together again this weekend thankfully, but then I work 8 days straight starting Tuesday! Buuut at least I get to go home for a bit after that :)

- When I write the date, I keep writing "6" for June. It's definitely not June. It's July, and has been for almost a week. Woops.

Fortunate:

- I thought I was going home in three weeks. I realized that I am actually going home in TWO. Hallelujia! Clearly I have no sense of the days (See above).

- As of yesterday, Nick and I have been together 4 years! Because of our work schedule we didn't get to celebrate, but that's ok. What's funny is that we've really been together for almost 7 years, we just hit a few speedbumps along the way. July 5, 2008 was when we finally decided to get back together and stay together.

- I got to Skype with one of my best friends, Chelsea, for over an hour at the beginning of the week. It was so nice to catch up and see her face! I wish I could get to San Diego to visit her!

- Going to a movie this week. I think the last movie I saw in the theater was Harry Potter 7 pt. II. Last summer. Yikes. It was made extra special because it was in 3-D!

- Enjoying the homemade yellow cake I made on Sunday all week long. Delicious. I'll have to make a chocolate one next :)

- We've only been living in this apartment for a month, but it feels like longer. It really is home!
