Weekend update.

Hard at work in the kitchen.
Saturday night's dinner.
First sips of the home-brew! Also, Nick apparently only wore U-Choir shirts around the apartment this weekend, haha.

Spice cake cupcakes with cream cheese icing.
Once again, the only day off Nick and I had at the same time was Sunday, but this time I only worked til 6 on Saturday, so we got to have dinner together and enjoy the rest of the evening. I came home to a clean apartment and dinner all planned. I asked Nick if I could help but he shooed me out of the kitchen , so I got to take a shower and change into my comfies before a delicious meal of kale salad with a spicy dressing, tomatoes, and avocados, and salmon. So. Good. And I am one lucky lady.

Sunday I slept in while Nick went on a bike ride, and the rest of the day was pretty much spent relaxing. We rented a Redbox movie the night before, so we returned that one and got another one and picked up some baking ingredients so I could make cupcakes. We watched that movie, then I baked cupcakes while Harry Potter weekend played in the background. Extra exciting thing from yesterday: We opened one of Nick's bottles of home-brewed beer!!!! He brewed the weekend of my birthday, then about a week ago, he bottled it. The carbonation takes about a week or two, so we decided to taste some to see if it was close. It. Was. Delicous. He brewed a basic IPA, and it's still a little sweet because the yeast hasn't eaten up all the sugar, but it's pretty darn good. It actually had quite a bit of carbonation to it as well. I'm excited to taste the completely finished product in another few days! I'm also going to try to take some home with me :)

Nick had to go back to work today while I enjoy my last day off for the next 8 days. However, after those 8 days, I will be flying home to Oregon and enjoying a marvelous 12 days in the Northwest, and Nick will join me a few days later! So all of these days we don't get to spend together will be totally worth it, because we'll get a week off together in our hometown and get to do some wedding planning and enjoy family and friends and fresh air and everything else wonderful about Oregon. I am so freakin' excited!

So before my crazy week of work starts tomorrow, I'm going to sit on the couch a little bit longer, enjoy some gym time, and probably bake some cookies, because, you know, the cupcakes weren't enough apparently. Ciao!
