Salted caramel pretzel crack.... I mean bark

Seriously, though, this stuff is sinfully good and ridiculously easy. I'm pretty sure the most terrible of terrible cooks could get this right.

My lovely boss, Shannon, first told me about this delicious treat and I was definitely intrigued. Then of course she thought it would be a great idea to bring some into work and let it sit on the table in our back room, just staring at me. So I tried it, and then I couldn't stop eating it. I mean, who doesn't love buttery, sugary, chocolatey goodness? OK, some people don't but those people are just weird.

Shannon said she got it from Pinterest, so I stalked her boards and found it. Anywho, this recipe only requires 5 ingredients that you most likely already have in your kitchen:

- mini pretzels
- 2 sticks of butter (yup... that much butter)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- bag of chocolate chips
- sea salt

That's it. Seriously. Here's how you combine these ingredients into a magical and delicious treat:

First, preheat your oven to 350, then line a baking sheet or jelly roll pan with foil and line up your little pretzels.

Next, melt your butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add your brown sugar and let it dissolve, stirring occasionally. I turned my heat up a little to get it to bubble and that's when it will start to get thick and caramel-y. You'll need to stir more here so it doesn't burn.

Once your caramel is ready, pour it over your pretzels. If you get a little more in one place, just spread it out with a spatula. Pop it in the oven and bake for 5 minutes.

Once that's done, sprinkle all of your chocolate chips on and let them melt. If you're too impatient, like me, do what the recipe suggests and stick it back in the oven for about 1 minute. It is super easy to spread out your chocolate then!

Let it cool on the counter for a bit, then put it in the freezer for a couple of hours. Peel off your foil and break it into chunks! And then try and stop yourself from eating all of it at once. I dare you.
